Here are a few of Jaimie’s beauty tips to aid you to have the perfect skin for your wedding!

Beauty Routine

Any beauty routine starts with good skin!  3-6 months prior to the wedding, treat yourself to regular facials at least once a month.  This will aid in beautiful, problem free skin on your special day!

Daily Routine

Be consistent with cleansing toning and moisturizing morning and night. Invest in hydrating serums or oils to keep your skin plump and glowing.  Every skin type, from oily to dry needs hydration to regulate oil production.

Skin Care

Oils applied to the skin are different than oils produced by the skin and are very beneficial.  My personal favourites are Argon oil (Josie Maran) & Jojoba oil, which helps to mimic skins own oil production.  For oily skin it helps trick the skin, thinking it has enough oil, aiding in producing less of it, while it also helps dry skin to produce more oil. Hemp seed oil is an anti inflammatory, which is often recommended for psoriasis and eczema, it also helps reduce acne and blackheads, shrinking pore size.

Flush the toxins!

Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily, this helps to flush toxins from the body, and improves skin complexion.

Hair Removal

Any hair removal waxing or threading should be done 3-5 days prior to wedding day to reduce risk of break outs, rashes, torn skin or makeup not sticking to skin properly!

Wedding Day SPF

No SPF on wedding day as it contains Titanium Dioxide and has the potential to reflect light from certain camera flashes.  This causes the skin to appear ghost like in photos! Mineral foundations aren’t great for photography either as many contain mica which makes you look shiny.

Reduce the shine for photos

MAC blot pressed powder is essential for touch ups throughout the day.  It reduces shine without building up on the skin.  It provides no coverage, practically translucent and gives a ultimate matte finish.  Great for the entire wedding party to use prior to pictures, including the groom!

Lipsticks & Lipliners

Purchase a touch up lipstick & lip liners for you and your bridesmaids.  A few classic, popular bridal lip colours from MAC cosmetics are:  Twig, Hug Me, Patisserie, Brave, Plink, Syrup, Please Me, Viva Glam 5, Impassioned, Rebel, Bare Again, Crème Cup, Angel, Hue, Half and Half.  MAC lip liners in Whirl, Spice, Oak, Soar, and Plum.

Basic Wedding Touch Up Kit

Basic Wedding touch up kit should consist of: Sponges, Q-Tips, lash glue, mini sewing kit, blotting papers or powder, mini powder brush, mirror, Kleenex, sharpener, eyeliner, lip liner, lipstick, cream blush, concealer stick, Hair spray, Bobbi pins, Evian mini spray water, band aids and a Tide to Go pen.
